About Us

At insight.net our objective is to make better, more consistently profitable trades, utilizing the latest data and screening technology available…

We do this by integrating data with multiple computations, rigorously testing and identifying trading indicators that work, and eliminating time-wastage on indicators (both fundamental and technical) that don’t.

This process allows us to continually discover superior performance through ‘combining’, and cross-checking specific indicators and metrics…

For instance, as a quick example of how a computation works, a company reports it’s quarterly profit/loss – the data shows strong sales and profit growth, which at first sight, impresses shareholders, potential investors, and the media pundits…

However, when we apply our checks, there are nuances (automatically flagged), within the stated numbers which question that first positive impression…

For instance, checking for excessive inventory, brought forward invoicing, capex spikes, and free-cash-flow vs reported income reveal key information which provides a deeper insight into the operational efficiency (or lack of) of the company.

Without going into excessive detail, this is an example of how our algos check and cross check data, to identify ‘true strength’ behind the numbers.

We take company fundamentals (growth, profitability, cash-flow, management competence, ROI, and balance sheets) seriously, as this provides us with an initial watchlist of ‘quality’ stocks to monitor.

Equally important – and applied to each company in the watchlist – are the technical analysis/timing methods (overbought/oversold indicators, price/volume patterns, money-flow, and bullish/bearish momentum patterns) we apply to the strategy.

We are a small team of four – all of us traders first and foremost – but each one bringing to the table an individual and distinct contribution, with integrity at the heart of everything we do…

With diverse backgrounds ranging from aeronautical engineering, to computer science, we share an innate passion for trading…

We embrace the challenges that trading offers, the trial and error necessary towards improvement, the adapting to change and to market-realities, and above all, the joy and sense-of-achievement in identifying breakthroughs and turning-points, that allow us to consistently experience alpha (outperforming the broader market).

We don’t just pick stocks…

Everything we know about finance, company fundamentals, the finer points of each line-item of every company’s quarterly statement, is integrated into how we select our initial watchlist of stocks.

This ‘qualitative’ analysis combines with technical timing – identifying windows of opportunity when a pre-screened quality stock becomes technically oversold.

Added to this pre-emptive signal, are confirmatory indicators such as buy-side volume increases, and new ‘smart-money’ capital flows into the stock – often the most opportune (what we call ‘high probability’) signal to buy.

Note how various indicators always work best together, in unison, as opposed to acting alone, towards a strong trading signal.

Our SmartRank algorithm is the sum result of everything we have learnt about the market – which indicators work, which don’t, which work best together, etc.

We think of the SmartRank score as an elegant, practical (fully-automated) method of capturing high-probability trades fast. For us, and our subscribers, the method takes the guesswork out of picking the right companies.

While simple to use, the algo itself is a complex (and unique) combination of multiple (28 in total) processes, which successfully integrate both qualitative company fundamentals and technical-analysis based entry-timing.

Our research, and system development, is a continual work in progress, and a journey we like to share with like-minded individuals – self-directed traders who want not only to take the guesswork out of stock-selection, but to fully capitalize on data and technology towards delivering consistent, market-beating performance.
